Talking to ICANA, Mohsen Kohkan said the Islamic Republic will not hesitate to strengthen its defense capabilities against the backdrop of regional and global threats.

He added the US’ move for imposing sanctions against Iran due to the county’s missile, human right or terrorism issues are considers as a pretext for pursuing more hostile policies against the Islamic Republic.

On Oct 8, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said the implementation of CAATSA is tantamount to US unilateral walking away from Iran nuclear deal.

'We will take advantage of the ridiculous treatment of the Iran nuclear deal by Donald Trump administration to leapfrog our defensive, missile and regional goals,' Major General Jafari said.
