Iranian top MP, French envoy for Syria review regional developments

Tehran, Oct 16, ICANA– Top Iranian lawmaker held talks with French Special Envoy for Syria Franck Gellet on Monday.

In a meeting Head of Parliament's national security and foreign policy commission Aladdin Boroujerdi and Gellet reviewed bilateral ties and parliamentary relations.

Touching upon the trend of ties between Iran and France the MP said that following implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Paris has taken priceless steps for development of bilateral ties.

Pointing to the recent statement of President Trump, Boroujerdi said if the US Congress decides to breach JCPOA, Iran would have no motive to continue this route and then world will recognize that Iran's capabilities for moving in this direction is more than before.

Gellet, for his part said, the mutual ties is based on common respect, understanding and interests.

He said Paris welcomes expansion of ties with Tehran in different fields.

Referring to Iran's positive role in establishment of stability in the region, Gellet said mutual cooperation will have effective influence in establishment of tranquility and stability in the region.
