Iran, Montenegro call for boosting parliamentary ties

Belgrade, Nov 4, ICANA– Iranian parliamentary delegation headed by Parvaneh Salahshouri reviewed issues of mutual interest with Montenegrin parliament Speaker Ivan Brajovic on Saturday.

The two sides also reviewed parliamentary ties, reciprocal visits by senior officials and increase in parliamentary cooperation level between the two countries.

The Montenegrin parliament speaker expressed satisfaction over visit of the Iranian parliamentary delegation to Podgorica, capital of Montenegro, and expressed the hope that the visit will pave the way to boost mutual ties in different fields.

Describing Iran as big and influential country in the region, he added that expanding ties with Tehran is so important for Podgorica.

Salahshuri appreciated invitation of Montenegro parliamentary friendship group for their Iranian counterparts and expressed pleasure for meeting Montenegrin parliament officials.

She pointed to Iran's intention to increase relations with Balkan region's countries and underlined the necessity to promote political, economic and tourism cooperation between the two countries.
