Singapore: SPP Says a Mix of Voices Necessary in Parliament

This came as a response to cabinet minister Lim Swee Say's comments on voting for the Opposition, CNA reported.

He warned that if a coalition government was formed, Singapore's future would become "a big bowl of rojak".

But the SPP views the analogy differently.

Jimmy Lee, SPP candidate for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC, said: "I love rojak. The 'you char kuay', cucumber, pineapple, sauce and bean sprouts. They all come together, they have their own part to play to give it the unique rojak taste that everyone loves.

"So I believe our Parliament should be the same. We should have many different views and opinions that come together."

The SPP's Bishan-Toa Payoh team held an informal dialogue session with private estate residents on Monday morning.

Secretary-General Chiam See Tong was accompanied by his daughter Camilla, who has been volunteering with the party.
