Cleric: Islamic Revolution Going Global

“The Islamic Revolution, which was realized through standing up to the US and defeating [the global] arrogance 32 years ago, has now not only spread across the region but also its wave has reached Europe and America,” IRNA quoted Ayatollah Seddiqi on Friday.

The cleric noted that the continued wave of Islamic Awakening in North Africa and the Middle East was originally inspired by Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution, which is fast becoming global.

Tehran's interim Friday Prayers leader highlighted the connection of the popular revolts in the Arab world with the values upheld by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (PBUH).

“The Prophet's appointment was an uprising against oppression, ignorance, corruption, vice, discrimination, and any form of depravation present in human society and which threatened humanity,” he said, echoing the remarks made by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Thursday.

Ayatollah Khamenei described the Islamic awakening of regional nations as a movement on the path of the prophets and noted how the revolutions in Egypt, Tunisia and other Arab countries have upset the "cruel and humiliating balance" imposed by expansionist Westerners and puppet rulers in the span of 150 years.

The Leader also reiterated that the Iranian nation and its Islamic establishment would always support any justice-seeking and anti-imperialistic movement.

“Through the Prophet's appointment, the people's hearts were connected to God and ethics were revived,” Hojjatoleslam Seddiqi pointed out, attributing the solidarity among the Muslim nation of Iran in their fight against oppressors to an air of morality and spirituality in the country.

“The Prophet's 10-year rule was one of justice, ethics and spirituality, and [his rule] was a role model that helped the Islamic Revolution stand against despotic powers despite all obstacles,” he went on to say.

Iran has repeatedly expressed support for any justice-seeking and anti-imperialistic movement against the hegemony of Israel, the United States and their ally dictators in the region.
