Most Americans Believe US Moving on Wrong Track

A telephone survey carried out by US media company Rasmussen Reports found that 68% of likely US voters say the country is heading down the wrong track.

The opinion poll suggests that the majority of Americans believe US President Barack Obama's administration is moving on the wrong path.

Only 25% of respondents believe the country is heading in the right direction, the survey revealed.

According to Rasmussen Reports, some 88 percent of Republicans and 67 percent of voters not affiliated with either political party believe the US is moving in the wrong direction, while Democrats are more evenly divided.

Analysts believe Obama's policies on both domestic and international issues, and his failure to tackle unemployment and solve the economic crisis as well as his failure to present a better global image of the United States account for the deepening popular distrust in his administration.
