Iran, Singapore Call for Stronger Ties

TEHRAN, July 10 (ICANA) – The outgoing Singaporean ambassador to Tehran, Ong Keng Yong met on Sunday with Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani and discussed expansion of ties between the two countries.

In the meeting, the Singaporean ambassador voiced satisfaction with the current level of mutual cooperation and said there are suitable grounds for expansion of brotherly relations between the two countries.

According to Information and Press Bureau of Majlis, in the meeting, Larijani said given the current global developments, the two countries can play a key role in bolstering their regional and international status in the world.

The two countries attach importance to expanding their mutual economic, commercial and parliamentary cooperation, Larijani said.

Referring to his recent visit to Singapore, Larijani described his meetings with the country’s high ranking officials as fruitful.

The outgoing Singaporean ambassador, for his part, highlighted Iran’s prominent role in regional and global developments and said the two sides' governments and nations are determined to broaden all-out relations and cooperation.
