“Jundullah terrorists want to carry out terrorist acts inside the country but they are arrested [before being able to do so],” Moslehi told reporters after a cabinet meeting Tehran on Sunday.

He went on to say that the members of this terrorist group are based outside Iran.

“They are being supported by foreign and NATO intelligence agencies,” IRNA quoted Moslehi as saying.

Two Jundallah commanders were recently killed in a clash with Iranian security forces in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan, which borders Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Jundallah terrorists have carried out numerous deadly bombings and assassination attempts in Iran, including several attacks in Sistan-Baluchestan.

Jundallah ring leader Abdolmalek Rigi was arrested by Iranian intelligence forces in February 2010 and executed in June for 79 counts of crimes, including armed robbery, bombing operations and armed attacks on police and civilians.

Rigi stated in his confessions that he had dealings with the US government and was promised unlimited funds and resources for "waging insurgency" in Iran.
