“Islamic Awakening supports intifada (uprising) and resistance in the Middle East and the occupied [Palestinian] territories and is a movement against Zionist occupation,” Hassan Malek-Mohammadi told Iran's Majlis (parliament) on Tuesday, IRNA reported.
Malek-Mohammadi pointed to the Fifth International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada held in Tehran on October 1 and 2, saying, “The Iranian nation, throughput history, has battled oppression and exploitation and it pursues this approach today through following the Just Jurisprudence.”
The lawmaker further cited remarks by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei who ruled out the two-state solution for Palestine as it violates the rights of Palestinians.
Ayatollah Khamenei said any plan needed to be based on the principle of “All of Palestine for all Palestinians,” and called for a referendum for Palestinians across the world to determine their fate.
Malek-Mohammadi also addressed the nationwide protests against social inequalities in the United States.
“These protests indicate the decline and disintegration of Liberalism and Capitalism in the West,” he concluded.
