Tehran, Nov 7 (ICANA) – Member of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Mohammad Hassan Asafari lashed out at UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon for his silence and indifference to the daily massacre of the Muslim community in Myanmar, and asked him to change his double-standard policy towards human rights issues.

UN's silence on massacre of Muslims in Myanmar unacceptable

"Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the history will one day censure you because you have opted silence on the cruel massacre of the Muslim people in Myanmar," Asafari said, addressing an open session of the parliament on Wednesday.

He also blasted Ban Ki-moon's silence on the killing of the Bahraini people by the al-Khalifa regime during peaceful protests against lack of freedom and democracy and arson attacks on Muslims' mosques in the country.

The silence of the UN and human rights organizations towards abuses against the Rohingya Muslims has emboldened the extremist Buddhists and Myanmar's government forces for massacring more Muslims.
