In an interview with ICANA on Tuesday, Sheikholeslam said, "Some regional governments can not tolerate the process of establishing a democratic rule in Iraq and they continue to interfere in the country's internal affairs."

He further noted that Western powers that were forced to withdraw from Iraq also want to renew their occupation in the country.

"The recent bombings and sabotage operation in various parts of Iraq are orchestrated from outside to destabilize the country and undermine the rule of the Shia government," he added.
