New Delhi, Feb 25, (ICANA) – Visiting Iran’s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani Monday met with Governor of the Indian state of Maharashtra K. Shankranarayanan at the Governor House in Mumbai.

“The meeting with the Iranian official was fruitful. India Iran enjoys excellent relations in all sectors. The cordial meetings will further boost our relations in all the fields including education, business and trade,” said Shankaranarayanan talking to reporters after the meeting.

On his part, Larijani, while terming the meeting as “fruitful, said: “We discussed political and economic issues. Iran and India have deep rooted cultural relations and are now seeking to further expand relations in the filed of education, economic and trade.ˈ

Larijani arrived in Mumbai on Sunday evening on a five-day official visit on the invitation of India’s Parliament (Lok Sabha) speaker Meera Kumar.
