Iran-P5+1 talks to pay off if West changes policy

“France, the US and Britain should drop their previous [hostile] position…. If this attitude changes, the talks will yield positive results. Otherwise, these countries should know that the Iranian nation will never give in to their pressures and threats,” Kowsari said on Friday.

The MP added that the Iranian nation’s resistance against Western pressure and sanctions coupled with their support for the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program have frustrated Western governments in their hostile policies against Iran, compelling them to soften their positions.

Even though the P5+1 group -- Britain, China, France, Russia, and the United States plus Germany -- showed a change in behavior in the latest round of negotiations with Iran in the Kazakh city of Almaty late February, they are still unreliable due to their conducts, he pointed out.

The Iranian lawmaker added that Iran will pursue negotiations with the P5+1 regardless of its mistrust in the group, and believes the recent change in the P5+1 stance on Iran means another defeat for the West.
