Lawmaker: Iran’s nuclear activities not halted

Jalal Mirzaei who is a member of Iranian parliament (Majlis) energy commission made the remarks in an interview with ICANA.

Mirzaei underlined that before the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) the US and the Zionist regime were trying to entirely stop Iran nuclear program.

The lawmaker added the JCPOA has paved the way for removing the negative atmosphere created about Iran in the world.

Touching upon Iran’s nuclear achievements, the MP said the country nuclear activities have not been stopped.

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi said on April 9 that Iran’s nuclear industry stays on its right track and it is expected construction of two new power plants in Bushehr next year will create job opportunities for about 10,000 people.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 11th anniversary of Iran's National Nuclear Technology Day, he said in last year the country nuclear industry continued its activity and is to continue the path in the current year as well.

Nuclear industry can help create job opportunities in industry, oil and health sectors, he said.

Launching new developing projects in the sector prevent transit of foreign currency from the country, Salehi said.
