Falahatpisheh rejects possibility of talking with US

Chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iranian Parliament Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh remarks in a press conference attended by domestic and foreign media on.

The top lawmaker underscored that the US sanctions against Islamic Republic will not bring about results for Americans.

Falahatpisheh said previously the US was using the issue of military option against Iran, but at present the Americans have altered their rhetoric and they have resorted to other options such as sanctions.

Commenting on fresh round of US sanctions which are coming into effect on Nov. 5, the lawmaker said Iran has brought about new conditions for itself, and today Islamic Republic is mature enough that talks with countries with hostile politics are no longer a taboo.

Pointing to new US sanctions, he added the Iranians are accustomed to sanctions and every part of the establishment is fully ready to counter them.

Falahatpisheh said that the Iran-Europe relations have never been as good as now, noting that “Europeans know that if it had not been for Iran, ISIL would have reached Europe's borders."

Commenting on anti-money laundering body (FATF), Falahatpisheh said “eventually, Iran will have the necessary cooperation with the FATF, but we have made the necessary reservations in the parliament, because we have seen contradictory definitions of the word terrorism in various conventions.”
