New Zealand official: JCPOA vital deal for Iran, region, int’l community

Tehran, Nov 5, ICANA- Top New Zealand official said the JCPOA was an vital deal for the region, Iran and the international community to achieve peace and nuclear control.

Anthony Smith, the New Zealand's senior assistant to prime minister made the remarks in his meeting with Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan, the special aide to the Majlis (Parliament) Speaker and director general of the international affairs of Iranian parliament.

Smith also voiced his country's backing for the nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive lan of Action (JCPOA).

He said the two countries enjoy close contact with each other, adding that the two nations share common views on a range of issues.

Expressing his country's concern about the issue of Palestine, he added that New Zealand safeguards the Palestinian cause at the United Nations.

Amir Abdollahiyan, for his part, said that US President Donald Trump's sanctions policy has aroused hatred against the White House policies.
