Talking to ICANA, Hossein Naqavi Hosseini a member of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran's Majlis (Parliament) referred to the issue of the ceasefire in Yemen, adding that the international community knows that the Yemeni war is “cruel and unequal”.

He added that Saudi Arabia and its allied countries have unjustly attacked Yemen and it is an apparent aggression on the soil of an independent state in which its people have elected another government.

The MP said that the Westerners are false advocates of democracy and human rights and in reality support terrorist groups across the globe.

He asked:” Should a nation, that has changed its government with its own, be brutally attacked and thousands of women and children killed on daily basis?”

The lawmaker reiterated that so far more than 6,000 Yemeni children have been killed due to Saudi Arabia atrocities against Yemen.

The UN, the UN General Assembly and the Security Council must come to aid this nation attacked by an aggressive government and issue a resolution and condemn Saudi Arabia, the MP said.

On Nov 5, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi expressed support for ceasefire in Yemen and resolution of the conflict through dialogue.

Qasemi pointed to the deteriorating situation in Yemen and noted that Iran supports any measure to stop aggression on Yemen, prepare the ground for ceasefire and dialogue among the country's political parties.
