Speaking in a meeting with former President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Gabriela Cuevas Barron, Ali Nikzad said Latin America is very important for Iran and wised progress for the countries like Mexico, Bolivia and Nicaragua in different fields.

"We welcome the exchange of information on parliamentary issues with Mexico," Nikzad said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has made great efforts in the field of housing, infrastructure and agriculture and has achieved valuable experience in the field of oil and petrochemicals, he noted.

Iran can have a common view with Mexico in various fields such as fighting terrorism, drug trafficking, international disarmament, countering unilateralism and US aggression against countries and interfering in their internal affairs.

Meanwhile, Gabriella Cuevas Baron said: "I know your country well and during my trips to Iran I visited the cities of Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz and Abyaneh.

“I have seen Iran closely and I am familiar with your culture and I know that many of the news published about the situation in Iran is false,” she added.

"To strengthen relations between Iran and Mexico and Latin American countries, we must start by breaking taboos and show the real Iran to the people," said Gabriella Cuevas Baron.

She went on to say that the number of Mexican tourists to travel to Iran is increasing.
